Transport and installation of the exhibition “Oudry, Painter of the Hunt. The Royal Hunts of Louis XV” at the Château de Fontainebleau, at the South of Paris

Bovis Fine Art is proud to have participated in the transport and installation of the exhibition “Oudry, Painter of the Hunt. The Royal Hunts of Louis XV”, which will be held at the National Museum of the Château de Fontainebleau from October 13, 2024, to January 27, 2025. Co-organized by the museum and the GrandPalaisRmn, this prestigious exhibition highlights the works of Jean-Baptiste Oudry, an iconic painter of the 18th century.

A tailor-made service

The expertise and know-how of Bovis Fine Art were essential to the realization of this exceptional exhibition. In collaboration with over a dozen national and international lenders, we handled the packaging, transport, handling, and installation of the 56 exhibited works, including:

  • 12 drawings or prints,
  • 8 books or manuscripts,
  • 7 art objects and sculptures,
  • 2 pieces of furniture,
  • 23 paintings,
  • 3 large tapestries,
  • 1 uniform.

Precision and expertise at the heart of our work

To ensure the safety of the artworks, Bovis Fine Art crafted custom-made packaging and crates through our specialized professional carpentry workshop. Our team meticulously packed each piece before coordinating its transport to the Château de Fontainebleau. Some works required specialized cranes to lift the crates onto the castle’s terrace, demonstrating our expertise in handling delicate operations.

During the two-week installation period, our technicians carefully unpacked and hung the works, ensuring compliance with museum standards and the fragile nature of the pieces.

Perfectly orchestrated international logistics

As a trusted partner of museums and galleries worldwide, Bovis Fine Art also managed artworks from abroad. We oversaw coordination with our international partners for packaging and transport, handled customs formalities for non-EU artworks, and supervised airport logistics upon arrival. Additionally, our teams ensured a personalized welcome for the international couriers accompanying these artistic treasures.
